    one first comment : Why didnt you go for Argos first as discussed before ? Argos was also one of his 3 culture cities and it was on hill and it would have freed up theben so that we wouldnt need to defend in flatland anymore ???
    Now we have our borders spread over 4 cities instead of 2 if you would have taken argos ?

    Argos was indeed a valid target I was thinking about. But it was quite more dangerous to JOURNEY over there. Already I got butchered on the first tile I stepped out on. I was happy to find a chain of hills to march over before taking out that big-bad city.

    Even then we'd have culture problems hindering us, and be even closer to Churches' deadly airforce. However, you're most likely right, it still may have been the best target over all.

    Anyhow, to be honest it was getting late, I was getting tired, and I didn't realize until the end that Athens was on flat-land. In a way that wasn't so bad, because Perc really loaded up his capital with tones of units I had to blast. But of course it also makes our job defending harder though. Grrrrr. At least we nabbed UoS, etc. from it.

    Our production is so strong, it really doesn't matter how many border cities we do or don't have at this point. I almost feel as though we are pumping out too many units at this point. Well, ALMOST!

    Feel free to go after Argos, Knoss, or both the next turn-set.

    Its zulans turn now and i would indeed try to free up our backlands and therefore capture Argos and Knossos - That way we would be left with athen and argos to defend which should be possible with our advantage of armies and production.

    on another sidenote : our secondary win option seems to be gone now - Lysander was the best contender for 1k XP

    Ok. Its sad but we will have to get over it.

    You did use the generals for front units, right? I would use the next one for a Mil. Academy in Mound City.


    We have a few tech options, I dont really know which to prefer:

    - Biology, we do have a few farms, but food is hardly our limiting factor
    - Combustion->Electricity->industrialism - get destroyers and some health first, then Tanks and Marines
    - Electricity->industrialism->Combustion - get Marines first. Then tanks and some health. I dont really think Marines matter because we have better Anti-Specialts in defense and for attack only Artillery matters.
    - Combustion->Flight - Destroyers and Fighters - I have no clue if Fighters will help in our situation.
    - Fascism: Mount Rushmore - VERY Jucy!

    Thats all I can think of . Actually I prefer Facism first beucase it has the best immediate impact.

    As for the offense - we are lacking in Artillery. I would get going with our great number of Infantry and Antitank as soon as we have at least 10 Arty.

    MM Stuff:
    - We are wasting a lot of Production in Cahokia due to the massive Overflow! We should switch from priests to merchants now and farm over the workshop - even possibly windmill the hill. Right now there is no use in producing more than 50 base considering 100% build of SAM-Infantry. For Infantry and Antitank its even less. In our case we should get *some* gold payout with the buggy overflow calculcation, but it is not worth it.

    - Temple in Marble City after the Antitank.
    - I absolutely second your request to buddhize all cities.
    - Theben has a destroyed rice field, worker for the rescue!
    - We have the Kreml. So some cities could consider whipping again
    - Anasazi can get a drydock and maybe start some ships to get our seafood back with destroyers (Though it probably doesn't matter anymore...)


    P.S. @Obsolete: As opposed to civfanatics you can upload and unlimited number/size of pictures in this forum. I had some display problems with the images you used, so I would perfer that

    Yes, but keep in mind we lost a total of 3 generals last turn-set.


    As for tech, to be honest I don’t think it matters anymore. Actually I don’t think even building Mount-Rushmore is worth it either. We should have a domination win already before we get tanks online. At least that is my theory. We already have more than enough population win for domination for a while now, just need a bit more LAND.

    Actually, Churchill will just use his airplanes to pillage it yet again. However, after you can put some intercepting SAMs on that tile, then maybe we can get a few free kills.

    Anyhow, I have a lot of cannons and artillery ready to move toward Knoss. They can actually be outside the city gates at the end of next turn after moving them this turn. However, since Knoss has been whipped to death, and the garrison isn’t THAT strong, I have a bit of over-kill in seige. You CAN if you want, to separate the artillery from that stack, and pull them back East for a turn. Then you can combine it with a few other seige I may have scattered about in some areas and immediately use it to march to Argos next turn.

    HOWEVER, keep in mind you may be in for some surprises on your way up to Argos with Churchill’s airpower. But if things look clear enough and you think you have enough for a quick advance then go for it. To be honest, even if the worst happens and we lose everything, we have enough production to rebuild large stacks in just a couple turns. So don’t worry too much.

    i agree - Just play your 10 turns and see where we stand then . With Knossos and argos taken we are at the brink of Domination victory - One could think about eliminating Surferman with a few "spare" infantry and 2-3 transporters/galleon.....

    I would have gone for Athens as well, but I would have razed it.
    In order to capture or much more likely to raze Argos we have to march on flat lands for several turns, where we are an exquisite target for both Perc and Churchill. (Due to this I went for Mykene in my turnset. It is much easier/safer to march over hills (and through jungle/forest) and capture 3-4 cities (Mykene, Korinth, Athens and Knossos) than to get slaughtered by Church's and Perc's arties, tanks, marines,... on flat land.)

    I guess for Knossos we just need 4-5 cannons/artys ... lower culture a bit and maybe 1 or 2 cannons/artys for collateral damage.

    If you feel in good shape, go for Argos as well, but else I would even consider raiding the former Khmer-empire in the southwest...

    With our huge production we don't really need any new tech/unit ... I guess we'll win domi or diplo before we reach tanks.

    Even though whipping gets interesting again I would go for it too much. Our production is huge and if we do have problems right now its food/commerce ... slavery doesn't help here...

    I would consider switching to emanz.+US/PS instead of going for fascism and Mt.Rushmore, while I believe it doesn't matter now...

    I would research biology next. Growth/food could push us to the diplo. win faster (and boost Zulan's whip. )
    Maybe go for flight, if Church's and Perc's airforce is too annoying, but I'll leave this up to the turnplayer...

    When planning any civic switches, remember we pop another great person in around 10 turns for our next golden age. It's the city of N(something?). When doing your micro-management, please keep this in mind and don't accidentaly change around the specialists. We are trying to avoid any engineers or scientists from popping. Even still, we have some science pollution that will be hard to avoid.

    Are you sure about this? We are talking about the UN (and not the AP).
    (Honestly, I usually have some kind of vasalls around this time (to speed the game up), when I'm going for domination/"diplomation". Then the Diplo-win happens more by accident than on purpose. Because of this I'm not tooo aware, when the vote comes up or not. )

    Well im 100% sure on this - You cant vote for diplo win if you have the required votes yourself - THis is why you need to be careful when going for this win - sometimes you better starve a few of your cities to get the option coming up to get the win with your vassals...

    What i havent tested yet is micromanaging your own population to get the win all by yourself by growing yourself rapidly within this 1 turn of voting and counting of votes.....
